VC501 – Design Manifesto: Andy Warhol

Warhol was obsessed with objects and imagery which projected luxury, money and status. I’ve included this series of images because they all relate to American consumerism, the idea behind pop art and the obsession with the materialistic. The prints of dollars bills and the dollar sign are obvious representatives. The ‘Diamond Dust Shoes’ print is of relevance because it represents the modern day obsession with materials, clothes, technology, goods etc.
