VC501 – Design Manifesto: Anti-Consumerism Campaign

This is a great example of an anti-consumerism campaign. The design of the booklet is exactly the direction I feel design is going, stripped back, simplistic, honest design.

Booklet Promoting Less Consumption

This is a campaign aim at raising awareness of consumerism and what it’s consequences are on the environment. The campaign’s goal is to inform people of some of the alarming statistics of over-consumption and to promote habits that lead away from such consumption. It was important todo so in a voice that was neither belittling, bossing or guilt driven.

The booklet itself was designed to be placed inside of a magazine and contains a sticker that is to be applied to your credit card to act as a reminder to reconsider whether you really needed what you’re purchasing or to simply put one item back.
